What’s Needed to Successfully Train Dogs

There are 2 people that can train your dog. That is, you or I.

For an owner to successfully train their dog, 3 things are required.

1. Time

Without time invested in learning, teaching and practice, training will not succeed.

You must be honest with yourself. If you do not have the time to learn, teach and practice the training with your dog then your only other option is a board and train.

2. Patience

Training a dog is similar to teaching a child. Progress happens at the learner’s pace, not on demand.

You must be honest with yourself. If you do not have the patience to learn, teach and practice the training with your dog then your only other option is a board and train.

3. Aptitude to Learn the Skill Set

Dog training is a skill set that must be learned. Some people acquire it easily; others find it challenging. Knowing your strengths matters. Just as some people are naturally skilled with mechanical work and others with technology, training ability varies.

You must be honest with yourself. If you do not have the ability or desire to learn, teach and practice the training with your dog then your only other option is a board and train.
